World Health Day – celebrated every year on 7 April – marks the anniversary of the
founding of the World Health Organisation.
This year the focus is on wellness, which has been placed under the spotlight both in
the workplace and personally.
In order for a wellness programme to have an impact, it requires a holistic approach
encompassing healthy eating habits and exercise. There are various reasons why health
and wellness have become of paramount importance, among which is the complex and
ever-changing world we live in.
According to the 2018 EMEA Health Survey, 95% of employers see a correlation
between health and employee performance and, as a result, they are prioritising
initiatives that are designed to improve workplace wellness.
